2009 Sunday
Steam Show Photos

We begin our Sundays at the SVSGEA annual Show with a morning Non-Denominational Church Service.  SVSGEA members David and Patti Fogle host the service that features reading of the Scriptures, a short message, and singing Hymns.
And more demonstrations of our vintage farm equipment.
Looking for parts for that old tractor you are restoring?  For wiring and electrical items, check out the Brillman Company, shown in the photos above. The Brillman Company phone number can be seen in their photo.

For tractor engine parts and accessories, check out Home Place Parts, shown in the photos below.  For Home Place Tractor, call Paul Chocklett or Jerry Hartman at 1-800-896-9197.  Let these companies know you saw their displays at the SVSGEA Show in Berryville, VA!

More education!  Meet Sam Breeden of Berryville, VA in the photos shown left and below.  His display of small engines begins with the British-made Wall Auto Wheel, shown against the tree.  This 1/2 HP bicycle propulsion engine was built in 1913.  Later, Wall sold out to A.O. Smith.  Still later, A.O. Smith sold this engine division to the Briggs & Stratton Company.  Briggs and Stratton then made their first stationary engine in 1922.

New for 2009!  We added a Mule Pull and a Mule Jump to our Sunday afternoon festivities!
SVSGEA Member Harry McDonald and Maven Gossard, shown at left, take the measurements after each Pull.

Marilyn Ashcraft keeps the records for the Mule Pull, below left.
Mike Marpole handles the announcing chores.

The Grand Finale of our annual Show is the Children's Tractor Pull.

To make sure the equipment is always in "proper working order" prior to the Competition, Announcer Mike Marpole checks out the Pulling Tractor with a "little weight" added my SVSGEA member Chris Collis.

Did I hear someone holler "F U L L   P U L L L L L ?

The SVSGEA Officers, Directors and Members wish to thank all of the Flea Market Vendors, the wonderful Exhibitors, and as always, the visiting Public, for making our 2009 "Pageant of Steam" Show the success it was.  It is our hope that somewhere in these photos and video clips you will see a memorable moment of your visit and will make plans to come back next year.  But then -- why wait that long?  Make plans to come and visit our annual Toy Show next March!  Our 2010 Toy Show will be a TWO -DAY event for the first time in 2010, to coincide with our first SWAP MEET!  Information and contact numbers can be seen on the Main Page of our website.  See you there!

And last but not least --- the members of the Shenandoah Valley Steam and Gas Engine Association want to thank our many Sponsors who donated equipment and services during the Show's 3-Day event.  Their help, generosity, and support are greatly appreciated.
