Welcome to the Shenandoah Valley Steam & Gas Engine Association's 2007 Toy Show.  This is our 7th year to host this Toy Show.  For the second year in a row, we held our Toy Show at the Hash Auction Center in Berryville, VA.
At the SVSGEA annual Toy Show you can find almost any sort type of Antique, Collectable, or Vintage model or scale model car, truck, farm equipment, or train as well as vendors who provide a wide variety or scale model parts.

One thing is always a certainty at our Toy Shows and that is that you will always see some very unusual and highly unique displays built and/or put together by some highly skilled and motivated individuals.  Meet David and Coleman Bradfield of Woodstock, VA with their "farm community" built on 4x4 sheets of plywood.  This exhibit is 32 feet long!

Need a clock?  We had a whole table full of assorted clocks with famous names embedded in the center.  Many of these clocks had the names of some very famous trucking companies that have long since vanished from time but whose names still bring back lots of memories for a lot of folks.

"You want me to do WHAT?"

Chris Collis and Ricky Ballenger during the Saturday night Toy Show setup.

Hungry?  Just step up to the window and tell the ladies from the Lucky Leaf 4-H club what you want from their menu.  Food was pretty good 'cause they kept running out!
For the ladies?  Meet Brenda Adams of Simply Charming from Stephens City, VA with her display of Sterling Silver and Fashion Jewelry.  You can go to:  www.SimplyCharmingOnline.com to visit her website and check out her fashion jewelry selections..
With a beautiful sunny day, we featured a few pieces of our Vintage equipment for visitors to look over as they entered or left the building.  Featured here is our 1910 Shingle mill ( above ) and a 1909 Frick Steam Engine, owned by member James Barr, shown at right.
"Whadda ya mean no refunds?"

Parts vendor Jimmy Pruitt, left, of Berryville, VA,  helping a friend with some parts.  Need some parts for the vintage scale models?  Jimmy can be reached at 540-592-3018.

No.... Brown didn't make a delivery here but Mike Propst, shown "peeking" through his display at right and with partner/friend Jimmy below appears to support the UPS Nextel Team. Maybe we shouldn't tell him a Fed Ex driver was taking these pictures?
Meet Les Sigrist from Waterloo, NY.  Lee also stocks and sells parts for most scale and miniature model cars, trucks, and farm tractors.  He has been selling parts for toy models for 20 years. He can be reached via E-Mail at: toyparts@hotmail.com .
SVSGEA President Rick Custer calling out ticket numbers for door prizes.
One of the most ingenious displays of the 2007 Toy Show was this display of hand-made, hand-crafted trucks, tractors, trailers, and construction equipment, all hand-crafted by Mr. Richard Custer, Sr. of Inwood, WVA.  Mr. Custer is 75 years old, retired from GM in Martinsburg, WVA and has been making these wooden models for nearly 20 years in his woodshop at his home.
Anyone interested in contacting Mr. Custer about purchasing his models can do so by contacting Amy Custer, the SVSGEA webmaster by clicking on the "E-mail Webmaster" button located on the main page of this website.
This Peterbilt truck and refrigerator trailer will be raffled off at the SVSGEA end-of-the-year Awards Banquet and Dinner in November of this year.  Tickets can be purchased from any member of the Shenandoah Valley Steam & Gas Engine Association.  Tickets will also be sold during the annual Steam Show July 27th thru 29th in Berryville, VA.
Chris Collis with the $$$ ladies of the day -- Pat Collis on right and Bobbi Strother on the left, collecting admissions at the door.
What would an antique, collectable, vintage toy show be without a least ONE train?  Meet Jack King and his wife Sandra.  They have one of the most unique model train and Barbie Doll displays ever seen.  If you are needing parts for any Lionel train or looking for one of those long lost Barbie Dolls or if you just want some information about trains or dolls, you can contact the Kings at 301-790-3118.
Anyone who has ever spent any time around an antique car club, tractor club or truck club, knows there is ALWAYS a few "older" guys who like to tell some great stories -- this group usually referred to as the "Liar's Club".  We are not without our very own "Liar's Club" with our most humble red-hatted Master IH professor-in-residence Mr. Ken Pruitt.
Meet Allen and Linda Zook of Mount Joy, PA.  Check out their website at:  www.penjoy.com .
